1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely as a hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

When you use our tools, we store the form answers you provide during the guided wizard, document metadata for files you upload, deadlines you create, and checklist preferences.

2. Uploaded Documents

If you use our document upload feature, files are stored securely on our servers. We use AI to analyze document metadata (file type, name, size) to check for completeness. We do not sell, share, or transfer your uploaded documents to third parties. You can delete your documents at any time from your account.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide the ImmigrationGuide service, including generating personalized checklists, running the AI-powered wizard, tracking your process timeline, and sending deadline reminders. We may use aggregated, anonymized data to improve our tools.

4. Authentication

We offer two sign-in methods: email and password (secured with bcrypt hashing and JWT tokens) and Google OAuth (handled through a secure third-party authentication provider). We do not store your Google password.

5. Analytics and Cookies

We use basic product analytics to understand how our tools are used (e.g., which forms are most popular, how many checklists are generated). We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: our AI provider (OpenAI) to process form explanations and analysis (no personally identifiable information is sent), and our hosting and database providers as necessary to operate the service.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
